A three-year post doctoral position is immediately available to conduct computational work at the atomistic level on the elastic and failure behavior of aerospace materials. The candidate may also be involved in modeling multiphase heat transfer behavior encountered in thermal cooling systems.
The position involves working collaboratively with a multi-institutional team of researchers involving Wright State University, Air Force Research Laboratory and at Southern Illinois University.
Requirements: Education Requirement: A Ph.D. obtained in materials science, chemical engineering, physics, chemistry or a related discipline with experience in atomistic modeling is required.
Preferred Experience: Some experience in finite element and other approaches is also desirable. The candidate should have very well-developed computational skills, a strong background and interest in atomistic and multiscale modeling and preferably experience in the calculation of mechanical and transport properties. Stronger consideration will be given to candidates with US citizenship or permanent residency.
