Carestream Health has approximately 7,500 employees, serving tens of thousands of customers in more than 150 countries. We are seeking a Nanomaterial Scientist to join our R&D facility located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Relocation assistance is available to qualified candidates. The successful applicant will play a key role in providing chemical and nanomaterial science expertise and participate in a newly established R&D project involving development of metal and other semiconductor nanoparticles and their application in imaging and other novel film applications. The candidate should have a broad inter-discipline background in material science, chemistry, solid state chemistry/physics and surface science. Industry R&D experience will be a plus. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with solid laboratory/research skills with innovative thinking.
This is a full-time, regular position, not a consulting opportunity. Carestream Health offers very competitive compensation including excellent employee benefits and a great work environment. Responsibilities Include: * Application of fundamental chemical and molecular understanding to conduct and improve the synthesis and purification of metal and semiconductor nanomaterials. * Participation in engineering, scale-up and process optimization of new nanomaterials. * Assess requirements and actively research/recommend, purchase and install new laboratory and pilot scale equipment. * Literature and patent search/scouting of new advances and new technology in the field of nanomaterial and nanoengineering. * Work with a team of cross-functional scientists to design and develop new products employing nanoparticle based advanced materials. * Actively identify and document intellectual property and patentable inventions.
Requirements:
* Ph.D in Chemistry, Material Science, Material Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. * Priority will be given to candidates with hands-on experience and a solid background in nanomaterial synthesis, purification and characterization. * Industry R&D experience and/or knowledge of solid state physics will be a plus. * Strong communication skills (verbal and computer) * Ability to work in multifunctional/departmental teams * Authorized to work in the United States
